11 schools for Dolphin swimming league

Defending champions and hosts Grange More Schools and 10 others will take part in the fifth season of the first private school swimming competition, the Dolphins Swimming League which begins on Saturday November 18 in Lagos.

The tournament is organised by Dynaspro Promotion Limited in collaboration with Advanta Interactive Limited with the technical backing of the Nigeria Aquatics Federation and Lagos State Swimming Association.

The participating schools for the new season include hosts – Grange School, Meadow Hall, St Saviour’s Children International School, Lagos Preparatory and Secondary School, Lagoon/Whitesands, Greensprings Lagos, Riverbank and Italian Priory.

A club, Boken Aquatics, will also be part of the tournament this year.

The tournament which has also been endorsed by the Nigeria Olympic Committee and Nigeria School Sport Federation produced most of the medallists at the last National Sports Festival in Delta State.

According to the coordinator of the tournament, Oluseyi Oyebode, the enthusiasm shown by the schools continued to motivate the organisers to be creative in their approach every season.

“We are so excited that within a short time, the tournament has produced national champions because from the outcome of the last National Sports Festival in Delta state, majority of the medallists are products of Dolphin Swimming League, and this has motivated us to want to do more for the tournament.

“Now more schools are now coming on board, and we want to continue to raise the standard through quality officiating coupled with inspiring performance from the swimmers. We have new schools like Atlantic Hall joining the league and we are still hopeful that more schools will come on board as the league progresses this season,” Oyebode said.
