Akor Adams’ brilliant performance since joining Montpellier in the summer has not gone unnoticed with Italian Serie A giants, AC Milan, eyeing the Nigerian striker as a potential replacement for Oliver Giroud ahead of next summer, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Adams has hit the ground running in Ligue 1 since his €4.5m move from Lillestrom in the summer.
The former Nigeria U-20 striker boasts an impressive goal return, which is only bettered by France captain, Kylian Mbappe, who comfortably sits at the top of the scoring chart with 13 goals from nine appearances.
Since earning a move to Montpellier after an impressive season in Norway where he scored 17 goals and registered two assists in 17 games, Adams is already showing the world the kind of stuff he is made of and just four months since joining the French outfit, he has already asserted himself as a mainstay in Michel Der Zakarian’s side.
According to an Italian publication, Gianluca di Marzio, AC Milan have been left impressed with Adams’ performance in France and are considering making an offer for the Nigerian.
“Milan continues to be very active in recent weeks to monitor various profiles in view of the winter transfer market session. The new names for the defense and attack are Alessandro Marcandalli , a central defender born in 2002 for Reggiana (but owned by Genoa), and Akor Adams , a striker born in 2000 for Montpellier,” the website wrote.
“Akor Adams is showing off himself at the start of the season in Ligue 1 with seven goals scored in eleven French league appearances. Last season the Nigerian striker played for Lillestrøm SK, a team from the Eliteserien, the Norwegian top league, and scored fifteen goals in fifteen games. “
In 11 appearances, Adams has already contributed seven goals, nearly half of Montpellier’s total goals in Ligue 1 this season.
