Victor Boniface says Bayer Leverkusen are the ‘perfect’ club for him after his outstanding start to life in the Bundesliga, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The 22-year-old has scored 10 goals and made six assists since his summer transfer to the Bundesliga from Union St-Gilloise.
He has also bagged both the Bundesliga Player of the Month as well as the Rookie of the Month Awards twice.
Boniface, who holds the best start to the Bundesliga by a Nigerian in the last decade, admits he will flourish more at the club.
“Bayer Leverkusen are the perfect club for me because they develop young players like me,” Victor Boniface said.
He also tagged the Europa League as his favourite after emerging top scorer in the competition last season with six goals.
It was the form that prompted Leverkusen to splash €20m for him.
So far this season, he has netted twice in his favourite competition and adds that he is always proud to score in Europe.
The 22-year-old striker also described himself as a funny and ‘chilled guy’ outside the pitch.
Boniface has been instrumental to Bayer Leverkusen’s unbeaten run of 15 games (14 wins and a draw) in the current campaign.
His goal contribution so far in the Bundesliga has helped Leverkusen gain a total of 21 league points from 10 games.
