I've received dozens of requests over the years to integrate ibEconomy with some of the add-ons IPS makes, such as IP.Blogs, IP.Downloads, IP.Gallery, etc. At first it wasn't possible, because there were no hook points in those software to tap into. I requested them a while ago and as of IP.Board 3.1.3 they do exist. Once these hook points were introduced, I began telling users that I would gladly integrate ibEconomy if I received the donations to do so. Long story short, no one has donated the $50 do buy either IP.Downloads or IP.Blog. Which is where this thread come in.

It seems more and more IPB mods are paid-only and the free mods scene is dying fast. I take pride that ibEconomy is one of the biggest and most useful third-party applications that the IPB scene has to offer, free or otherwise. Which is why I figured I would get one of the thousands of downloaders to donate $50 easily, but alas, none have. So instead of requesting a single donation of $50 (and then more for subsequent IP apps), I am now posting this announcement to say that the next $50 (collective) I get will go towards the purchase of IP.Downloads. Then if that happens, we will reboot and start going for IP.Blog. Then move to IP.Gallery, etc.

I'll update this thread with the current amount donated for IP.Downloads.

If you add a few features I want in ibeconomy ill gladly buy the mod and donate extra.

Features I'm looking for: (As I think of more ill comment, but this is all so far)

1) Removal of point winning in the lottery and the ability to setup up other prizes. I want the lottery to offer different prizes like games, gfx cards, computers, etc. Just needs to say instead of "you won such and such points" just have the ability for a admin to change what it says so if someone won it emails and pms them "congrats, you won the lottery, you won the "admin stuff here", you can even make it win a shop prize called lottery and have that list all the stuff, either way...

2) Ability to make redeemable codes for points. (this can be used as a reward in games or other things as a code, that way a admin doesn't have to manually add the points into the persons account)

3) Easier ability to add shop items. (I'm looking to build shop items to buy games where it would say "so and so bought this game and email me so I can gift him the game)

Donation is a donation, not a feature request....

A feature request is just a feature request

I like to use my clans money to donate on mods that we can use for the clan, I won't use my members donated money unless its for a good use. Asking for features before buying something is the same thing you do for almost anything.
You don't buy something unless it works how you want it to, just like a car, computer, phone, etc. As for the donation, if he supports my feature requests then in turn ill support his mod and community and donate. Its pretty simple.
He deserves all the money he can get for all the hard work he does, but I can't just spend my communities money for no reason, and I don't have any money to donate myself or I would have already bought this mod, but because this
isn't my money, I can't just go spending it everywhere.

I would have rather be able to choose for which IP app i want to donate because i don't use IP.Dowloads in my board...

1) If you mean you merely want to change the PM contents when the user wins the lottery, you can already do that. However, if you mean you want to actually give the winner(s) ibEconomy shop items so when they win they will have the new items listed in the My Shop Items area, then no that probably won't be added anytime soon. While that is an interesting idea, it would be a drastic change for the Lottery system, and I change I don't think is worth it. To me, using the Lottery to win points which users can do whatever they want with, including buying items suffices. I'll keep it in the back of my head and perhaps in the future would consider it, but for now there is no plans to dismantle the lottery system, hell it has only been out for a few weeks.

2) This is a much easier and more compelling idea and once I've finished the stuff I'm developing now, it might be done. What I'm doing now would make something like that easier to "plugin". But more on that later...

3) Have a look at the Build Your Own Shop Items thread in the Tutorials forum here and post what parts you think need to be made easier. By the way, ibEconomy already includes the "unusable shop item" which you can use to represent anything you want (e.g. games). If you need an item that simply sends you a message, which you could label as whatever you want (e.g. a game) you could use the Secret Message shop item and modify it to send you a PM instead. Mephit already did that here.

No problem, when you donate let me know and I'll add that amount to it's own counter. I know downloads and blog both have hook points, but not sure about the rest. Let me know if you research it at all. Terabyte said other apps were in the works, but not sure if they were done or not. I'm referring to this blog post.

I think that IP.Gallery and IP.Download are the most used apps, and i think that developement must to improe this apps

Well just the ability to remove the point winning and allow me to change the PM contents would probably work how I need it. I just need to have it display something different on pot size and not have it add points when no one wins. I don't want to dismantle it, just have the ability to turn winning points on or off. I don't need it to win shop items and auto place them, just a cosmetic change to the lottery for admins to change. If someone wins, then ill have to manually remove the points and no one will know what they won, heh heh.

Example: Pot Size: Starcraft 2 and $10.

If no one wins I could edit it and say

Example: Pot Size: Starcraft 2 and $15.

It actually would be a bit of a dismantle, it would involve new settings, template edits, completely redo the task that ends the lottery, redo the queries, add database fields, etc. All so the lottery can award items, which can already be done with the Scratch Off shop item or can be purchased with points won from the lottery (or posting, repping, investing, etc), or even other creative ways I'm not thinking of. So again, unfortunately its probably not in the cards.

Wow, I'm a dumbass, I seen your mod's name as e$30 so I thought it was a paid mod. I downloaded it and installed it, It works how I was asking, removal of lottery points with no gain on a no lottery winner. Ill research how to do a skin edit or database edit for the "lottery potsize 0" to display something else.

Back to the donations, i've received a couple more donations, please post if you want your name mentioned. I may create a Donator group too.

I have enough for IP.Downloads already, so after I'm done with the current upgrade, which I've been working on for a week or so, I'll buy IP.Downloads and install on my test board and get to hooking! (that doesn't sound quite right...) Next up is IP.Blogs.

Yeah, I've been looking at who donated and I think perhaps ALL of them are from either you or from your forum members, lol. Any other actual ibEconomy admins donate?
